Hence, I’ve moved Exile to the top of my Top Ten Places To Eat list. First and foremost, the newly added space, including JAG Soundhouse, is a stunning addition that really elevates the atmosphere of the hotel. The decor is beautifully executed, making it a feast for the eyes; we found ourselves wanting to explore every corner of the space. We started our meal with a beautifully presented Caesar and a well-crafted Margarita—both excellent choices to kick off our culinary journey. We were pleasantly surprised with the delicious bread that tasted just like your grandmother made that our server brought to us with our cocktails. For our starter dishes, we indulged in the Pork Belly coated in soy maple glaze atop cauliflower purée with green onion and house pickle, and the Whipped Goat Cheese Salad....this tasty dish has confit cherry tomatoes marinated with herbs and garlic on whipped goats' cheese with olive oil, redwine vinegar, rosemary roasted pistachio, and arugula and is a five star flavour combo for sure. For our main dishes we chose the 10oz Striploin steak (cooked to perfection), with Bavarian Potato Salad and the Romesco Cod served with Orzo Alla Limone which was also cooked to perfection and starred a perfect crunchy flavour filled Romesco crust on the cod. Each dish was a celebration of flavour and creativity, showcasing the talent of their new Chef, Matt Evely. We stayed here last summer and were captivated by the spectacular views! From our private deck, we enjoyed front-row seats to the breathtaking sight of seabirds and humpback whales at the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. From April to September, the arrival of puffins and other seabirds adds to the magic, and the East Coast Trail nearby offers incredible hiking opportunities. Cliffs Edge Retreat not only provides comfort but ensures an unforgettable natural experience. We would definitely return just for the views—highly recommend! The Cliff's Edge is a tiny home but so well laid out with so many windows you feel like you are right outside. The hosts have gone to great lengths to make this place super inviting and comfortable. **Restaurant Review: Bernard Stanley Gastropub** Nestled conveniently at 6-8 Foxtrap Access Road in Conception Bay South, and also with a presence in downtown St. John's, Bernard Stanley Gastropub is a delightful find for those seeking a satisfying culinary experience.&nbsp; Upon entering, we were immediately struck by the cozy yet stylish decor that perfectly balances a modern ambiance with a warm, inviting feel. The atmosphere sets the tone for a relaxing meal, making it an ideal spot for everything from a casual lunch to a special dinner. Our dining experience commenced with the highly recommended Smash Burger accompanied by crispy fries. The burger was a true delight, featuring juicy, perfectly seasoned meat that was cooked to perfection. Each bite was an explosion of flavor, complemented beautifully by fresh toppings that elevated the experience further. The fries were a heavenly addition—crispy on the outside and fluffy within, making them the ideal pairing. We also had the pleasure of trying the Fish and Chips, and it did not disappoint.
